Swedish for ”From days of rest”.

“Creating is about receiving. And the best place to receive is in a state of rest. That is where you are the most susceptible and open.”

Coming from the big endeavour of completing his last album Solskur, written and arranged for orchestra and recorded with parts of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Patrik wanted to return to a more minimalistic setting and focus around his compositional starting point, the piano. In June last year he also teamed up with Steinway & Sons and acquired a new piano.

All the recordings on the album has been made on his Steinway & Sons K-132.

Från Dagar Av Vila is a collection of musical novels written and recorded over the course of 2 years. Each piece has its own individual narrative and specific theme. But they are all connected through the common theme of Rest.

”When deciding on a title for the album it struck me that all of the pieces where written without the intention of writing music. In my daily work as a composer and producer I sit down and create a space for the music to appear, but in these cases it has been the other way around. The music has sought me up and pulled me along. All of them are conceived on free days, with the mere part of the ideas being written on Saturdays. The resting day.

My wish is that these pieces, or musical novels, will help you navigate into that place of peace and deeper connection to yourself and your surrounding. Making you aware of the gifts surrounding you and putting you in position to receive them.

From my days of rest, to yours.”
